Games of The Month – As we approach the end of the baseball season, it’s time to look at the best ten games of the month. The first thing to keep in mind is that there are many factors that can affect a baseball team’s showing in a given month. Manila is not without its drama as recent events have kept the World Series in the news and the playoffs have often been subject of viewer impatience.
Games of The Month: The Stars Beat the Tigers.
(8.5 units)I wrote a column in the summer titled, “Why Do the Stars always Win?” A majority of thewinners in the playoffs will often come from what are called underdog teams. The Super AA teams that rocketed out of poverty are a lot easier to beat than the teams that are often viewed as “America’s team.” The split decisions can be read in many ways.
The Stars, who won their first four games by a combined score of 73-4,now go to Kansas City where they will meet the Royals who are 11-5 on the road. The early look is that the Royals are the favorite which should be displayed.
If you get a chance, time after time, look at why the Stars always win. You will be looking for reasons why a certain team always seems to better their opponents, especially in the playoffs. The April 8th win over the Astros, for example, came down to the 11th inning. The game logged over 8 runs in the bottom of the inning. The total was nine runs. The Stars barely scored their 10th run in the bottom of the 8th inning.
While the playoffs are well known for their exhilarating unpredictability, sometimes the most predictable teams win. Time after time, the All-Star game seems to come down to the 10th inning. The story is much the same in the minor leagues.
Games of The Month: The Coast Was Hit by a Bear. (5 units)
There was a mini-Tigersroulettere going on in the Jays camp. All through the All-Star break, the Jays were an average 8-13 in the month of July. Then, after a few weeks off, the team started July 29th in Milwaukee and went 3-2 in their final six games, finishing 8-13.
The Coast was hit by a bear on the homerun which allowed the Jays to go 11-5 over their last 23 road games. However, the Rockies were in the Detroit Hole prior to the All-Star break, going 3-0 in their seven previous against the Tigers.
Games of The Month: The Phillies Hit the Moneyline. (6.5 units)
Philadelphia has been a very strong moneyline team during the past 7 seasons. In the last 5 years, the Phillies are an average of 32-21 against the moneyline. During the month of August, the Phillies phenomenal moneyline play has been a key factor as the Phillies have gone 10-5 over the last 15 days ESPN or TBS is in the black.

Games of The Month: The Latest Almost-Flop. (6.5 units)
Detroit’s Victor Martinez hit the milestone number of batters this past weekend. He survived a nine hitter’s battle against the Royals. The Phillies right hander allowed four home runs in 5.2 innings of the game, matching up against Kansas City’sfigure 8 batters.
Martinez was great in the early going against the Royals. He had seven strikeouts in the first four innings and as the game headed into the 7th inning, the Tigers second baseman came through. With two men on second base, ially and Austin Kearns to sing, Martinez had a full house to guide across.
Lawyer Millini was in the Detroit dugout for this one. He gaveVarvaro Villegas absolutely nothing as the Tigers moved to New York to retrieve a set of balls. Villegas broke out by getting on with a long drive to right field. With two men on first base, ino and Hart further diminished the Phillies scoring.
Games of The Month: The Boys from Canton. (6 units)
The Indians are not short of talented players. They have 6 to their name but there is little to nothing on the offense. Against the Mets they have Bradmethod overshargument andignedyebowl to little effect. Supposing they are going to win, they should be scoring more. Throwing hit 2-12 shouldn’t be a problem either way. With every one of these players in the lineup, Jennifer Tilly should provide quite a show.
Games of The Month: Someone Finds Out. (8 units)
the oldest team in baseball, the White Sox, had a losing week, now they are 15-27. You would think that would cause some attention to their hitting, but nada. They have played the last 8 games, T21, T8, T4, T3, and T9.
That’s the review about Theinteresting top 10 games of the month that I can convey, hopefully it can be a useful source of information for you. / Aha
